Domestic abuse is one of the most misunderstood issues facing families, churches, and communities around the world. It affects women of every age, culture, education level, and socioeconomic background. Behind closed doors, countless women silently endure emotional, psychological, spiritual, financial, sexual, and physical abuse while desperately searching for hope, safety, and someone who will truly understand.

At Living Waters of Hope, our mission is simple yet profound:

To restore hope and dignity to survivors of domestic abuse and equip others to do the same.

For many women, healing begins the moment someone believes them. From there, the journey continues through education, biblical truth, compassionate support, and a community that reminds them they are not alone.

A Biblical Response to Domestic Abuse

Living Waters of Hope is a Christian nonprofit ministry committed to responding to domestic abuse through both truth and grace. We believe every person is created in the image of God and deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and love.

Unfortunately, many survivors have experienced well-intentioned but harmful advice by faith leaders, friends, and family members. Some have been encouraged to simply pray harder, submit more, or forgive without addressing the ongoing abuse. Others have felt isolated because their church or support system did not understand the dynamics of coercive control and emotional abuse.

Our desire is to provide biblically sound resources that help survivors recognize abuse, understand God’s heart for them, and begin rebuilding their lives in Christ.

Healing is not about assigning blame. It is about bringing truth into the light so restoration can begin.

The Oasis Bible Study: A Journey Toward Healing

At the heart of Living Waters of Hope is the Oasis Bible Study, a biblically based support program designed specifically for women impacted by domestic abuse.

Rather than offering quick answers or simplistic solutions, Oasis provides a safe, confidential online community where women can process their experiences alongside others who understand.

The program is intentionally structured as a journey through three books:

Oasis Bible Study – Book One: Restoring Hope & Dignity

Many women enter Oasis feeling confused, overwhelmed, fearful, and uncertain about what they have experienced. Book One lays the foundation for healing by helping participants understand the dynamics of abuse, replace lies with biblical truth, and rediscover their value as daughters of God.

For many women, this is the first time they realize they are not alone. This is the beginning of the life-transforming work God is about to do in their lives

Oasis Bible Study – Book Two: Finding Truth & Strength

Healing is a process that requires wisdom and discernment. Book Two helps women gain clarity, establish healthy boundaries, recognize manipulation, and make wise decisions rooted in God’s truth.

As understanding grows, so does confidence. Not only confidence in themselves after years of criticism and demeaning comments, but also confidence in God.

Oasis Bible Study – Book Three: Embracing Growth & Resilience

Healing is more than surviving. Book Three focuses on continued emotional and spiritual growth as women embrace resilience, rediscover their gifts, and begin walking confidently in God’s purpose for their lives.

Many graduates eventually become facilitators, mentors, and advocates who help other women find hope. While others choose to repeat the classes to gain more emotional and spiritual strength before using their pain for a purpose

Safe. Confidential. Biblical.

One of the unique aspects of Oasis is the emphasis on creating a confidential, supportive community. Women often tell us they have never been able to speak openly about their experiences without fear of judgment.

Through small groups led by trained facilitators, participants discover they are surrounded by women who truly understand. The result is not only education—it is genuine community focused on God’s Word and the truth about domestic abuse.

Whether classes are attended online or in person, each woman is welcomed with compassion and reminded that healing is possible. Scholarships are available to ensure that any woman who is ready to begin their healing journey can join a class.

Equipping Churches to Respond Well

Survivors are not the only people who need support. Church leaders, pastors, elders, ministry teams, family members, and friends often want to help but simply do not know how.

Living Waters of Hope offers domestic abuse awareness training designed to equip churches and ministry leaders with practical, biblical tools for recognizing abuse and responding wisely. Level 2 training is available specifically designed for faith leaders and their teams after they have completed the Level 1 training.

Training topics include:

  • Recognizing emotional, psychological, and coercive abuse
  • Understanding why domestic abuse is not simply normal marriage conflict
  • Responding safely to disclosures
  • Avoiding common misconceptions that unintentionally place survivors at greater risk
  • Creating healthier church policies and response plans
  • Walking alongside survivors with both compassion and biblical truth

When churches become educated, they become safe places where survivors can find safety instead of silence. Too many women come into our classes who have felt re-victimized by their faith leaders who have given hurtful and harmful counsel out of a lack of education. As a result, women are leaving their churches which should be the safest place for them to get help.

Resources for Survivors, Families, and Faith Leaders

Healing often begins with one conversation—or one resource. That is why Living Waters of Hope offers a growing collection of biblical educational materials available through our website along with many helpful resources on their website.

Resources include:

  • Articles on recognizing unhealthy and abusive relationships
  • Educational webinars
  • Domestic abuse awareness materials for churches
  • Printable resources for pastors and ministry leaders
  • Biblical teaching on healing, boundaries, forgiveness, and restoration
  • Materials designed for friends and family members supporting someone experiencing abuse

Every resource is created with one goal in mind: helping people respond wisely and compassionately to victims and survivors of domestic abuse while pointing them toward Christ.

Expanding Hope Around the World

Although Living Waters of Hope began serving women in the United States, the need extends far beyond national borders. Domestic abuse exists in every nation, culture, and language.

God continues to open doors for Living Waters of Hope to partner with churches and ministry leaders internationally through training, educational resources, and support programs. As Oasis materials are translated and additional leaders are equipped, more women around the world will have access to biblical support that may otherwise be unavailable.

This growing international vision reflects our belief that every woman deserves to know she is loved, valued, and never forgotten by God. Domestic abuse is a real issue around the world.

A Ministry of Hope

Perhaps the greatest message Living Waters of Hope shares is this:

There is hope.

Hope for the woman who feels trapped.

Hope for the woman who has lost her voice.

Hope for the woman who wonders if anyone will believe her.

Hope for churches seeking to respond with greater wisdom.

Hope for families learning how to support someone they love.

And hope because Jesus Christ meets people in their deepest pain, bringing truth, healing, comfort, and restoration.

Psalm 147:3 reminds us:

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”

That promise continues to guide everything Living Waters of Hope does.

Whether through the Oasis Bible Study, domestic abuse awareness training, biblical educational resources, materials, or partnerships with churches and ministries around the world, the ministry exists to help women move from confusion and fear to clarity and confidence—discovering that they are seen, they are loved, and they are never alone.
